Prayers for our Friend Anna

Anna has asked for prayer for direction as she decides whether or not to stay with an international evangelism team or return to a very intensive prayer ministry. She is feeling led to return to the prayer ministry to continue to seek healing from the wounds that she experienced with what happened with her family. I think this would probably be a very good idea. Also she's going on an intensive evangelistic mission trip in Oct and the first part of Nov. The area is fairly dangerous, but potentially very productive. Please pray for her safety.

Small Group at Bekah's (5/1/11)

Instead of chirruping crickets, you will be serenaded by chainsaws. The power's on and Bekah's in the house! Bring foooooood.

Mary Anne's daughter was released from the hospital Friday. She's on IV antibiotics for awhile, but is doing much better. Praise God.

Small Group at Dennis and Barb's

Update on Mary Anne's daughter: She is still stable and sedated. She has pneumonia and MRSA. They cannot yet take her off of the ventilator. Her liver is still not functioning well. It seems that the doctors expect her to live, but I'd call it "guardedly optimistic." Things still could go south very quickly.

Update on Mary Anne and her daughter

Mary Anne's daughter is in Medical ICU at Memorial. Her vital signs have been stable, but she is sedated and her liver is not functioning as it should. It is not producing clotting agents and so she is in danger of bleeding to death. She had many repairs to her esophagus and any of them could burst loose and death would then come quickly. Every 12 hours her prognosis improves slightly. She'll be in the hospital at least a week if she does well.

Mary Anne is currently planning to spend days up at the hospital with her and leave at 5:30 pm. The FesperPeople are watching her granddaughter until Mary Anne can get her. the granddaughter's father is currently not able to be located, and may not be for a while. The granddaughter is pretty flat emotionally right now.

Due to a strange and somewhat unfortunate harmonic convergence of circumstances (involving a fair amount of sickness), none of our four host families can host small group today. I'm going to consider this an act of providence and go ahead and cancel for tonite (and yes, I know that I'm the person always calling that anathema). Please take some rest or visit another one of our small groups.
